Kerby Centre announces July 6 reopening

Kerby Centre will resume select programs and services by appointment only beginning July 6.

As part of Alberta’s Phase 2 reopening, Kerby Centre will resume in-person operations under the guidelines set by Alberta Health including social distancing, masks, and contact tracing.

Programs reopening by appointment include Information Resources, the free tax-filing service, a limited number of Education & Recreation courses, and foot care.

Outreach programs including Thrive (grocery delivery), presentations and courses by Zoom, tax filing by phone, and the Social Calling Program will continue operating to reach seniors who are still isolated.

Kerby Centre also is a mask distribution centre for seniors who cannot use the drive-through system that is being used for public distribution. Seniors can pick up masks at Kerby between 8 and 4 Monday to Friday. Masks can also be delivered to seniors by calling 403-705-3175.

Our work for Calgary’s seniors and our city continues. In addition to supporting those around you, please consider monetary donations to nonprofits that are meaningful to you.

We are currently working with other agencies and the city and provincial governments to evaluate additional services that Kerby Centre can add to best support Calgary’s seniors during this time.
