Unison is fighting isolation

Through our Active Aging department, we offer classes in languages, writing, music, and art. We offer drop-in programs for physical activities, board games, card games, and crafting. Our Wellness Connection program offers various support groups, wellness programs, and informational presentations.

Unison is a trusted information resource

Our Unison Information Resource Department is here to help get answers and solve problems. They can guide benefits and pensions, seniors’ housing, legal questions, and tax support.

We also provide support to those fleeing Elder Abuse.

Our Calgary team collaborates with Carya and the Calgary Police Department through the Elder Abuse Resource Line (EARL), and we operate our elder abuse shelter.

Our Medicine Hat team recently started an elder abuse support program that works closely with older adults, families, care partners, and service providers to offer assessments, support, and case management to those at risk of or experiencing elder abuse.

Unison is providing food security

No one should have to choose between food, shelter, or clothing. At Unison we are working to take food off that list. Our Medicine Hat team runs the local Meals on Wheels chapter, and our Calgary Team operates our Thrive programme, which facilitates Free Food Markets, a non-perishables Community Pantry, a Grocery Delivery program, and an Emergency Food Hamper service.

Unison is expanding

It’s not always easy to get to where you need to go. Mobility, health, finances, location, and transportation can all be challenges when accessing our Kerby Centre, Veiner Centre, or Strathcona Centre facilities. It is for those reasons that we have started to not only move out into satellite locations, but to expand our online presence. We are and will continue to work on improving our accessibility to Unison programs and resources for generations 50+ and those who support them.
