Position:        Database Administrator (Raiser’s Edge, NXT)

Salary:            $44,250 (or depending on experience)

Education:     Degree or diploma preferred.  Will consider equivalent experience

Experience:  At least two years experience in a non-profit

Competencies:

  • Strong interpersonal and relationship skills. Demonstrated ability to work with the public, donors and sponsors.
  • Accuracy and detail oriented
  • Organization and administration skills: database management, documentation, time management, scheduling, follow through and numeracy.
  • Excellent communicator and team player

Hours:            Works 8:00 – 4:00 or 8:30 – 4:30 Monday to Friday.

This newly created position will support the Director of Fund Development in operating the Raiser’s Edge fundraising database and provide support to fundraising activities.  Duties will include:

  1. Maintaining Raiser’s Edge:  This includes maintaining the donor database, configuring donor and prospect files, running monthly reports, installing Blackbaud updates, maintaining security settings, maintaining a pledge system and providing training and support to other staff.
  2. Documentation and Compliance: Developing standards and procedures for the database.  Ensure compliance with Canada Post regulations.
  3. Data Entry: Process all gifts in a timely manner including monthly donors, direct deposits, credit card processing and preparing direct deposit slips for the bank.
  4. Direct Mail Campaigns: Set up the backend of direct mail campaigns and work with the mail service company for distribution.
  5. General: Work closely with Kerby Accounting and the Senior Manager of Finance to provide a seamless system for donors.

Position:        Shelter Coordinator

Salary:            $44,250

Education:     Social Work Degree required. Two-year Social Work diploma considered with one-year related experience.

Experience:  Preference given to experience in related settings such as shelters, resource lines, distress lines, care centres, seniors’ housing and seniors’ centres.

Training/experience required in at least two of the following areas:  family violence, elder abuse, marginalized populations, addictions. mental health and trauma informed care.

Competencies:

  • Maintain a current level of knowledge including CPR at Basic Rescuer Level, First Aid.
  • Trauma Informed Care
  • Calm under pressure, organized, good written and verbal communication skills, pro-active and have intermediate level computer skills.
  • In case of an emergency must be able to walk clients down the stairs.

Hours:            Generally works Mon – Fri 7:30 – 3:30. Flexibility is required to supervise staff on weekend or evening shifts.  Overnight shifts may be required; this means working alone.  Must be flexible to provide adequate Shelter coverage and on-call coverage.

This newly created position will support the Manager in overseeing Shelter services and supporting clients.  The Coordinator will serve as the senior supervisor on the floor in the absence of the Manager.  Responsibilities include client intake, troubleshooting, monthly statistics preparation and a variety of administrative tasks.  In addition, the Coordinator will supervise the casual staff and support their educational needs.  A large component of the work is community development which involves educating the public on elder abuse and liaising with other organizations to ensure that clients are referred to the Shelter in a timely and appropriate manner.  In consultation with the Manager, the Coordinator will develop projects that support the reduction of violence against older people and support the work of the Shelter.

Job Posting: Part-time Assistant to Foot Care (LPN/RN) – 3 days a week

Position:        Part-time Assistant to Foot Care (LPN/RN) – 3 days a week.

Salary:            $23.45/hour

Education:     Must be an LPN/RN with a recognized foot care course.

Hours:            8:00am – 4:00pm with one hour for lunch.

The Assistant (LPN/RN) will provide holistic health care through basic foot care and the education of clients on related health and wellness topics.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide professional foot care including trimming nails, reducing corns and calluses with dremel.
  • Assess foot health needs and educate the client on topics such as shoe fit, dry skin.
  • Make referrals to alternate health services such as a podiatrist or Urgent Care Centre when necessary.
  • Maintain accurate medical documentation according to accepted standards on each treatment in order to have a history of care provided.
  • Maintain an antiseptic environment by cleaning and disinfecting tools, wiping up spilled water and sweeping floor. Maintain infection control at all times.
  • If required, fill-in for Wellness reception. This includes answering the phone and providing information or booking appointments.
  • Set up and take down the foot clinic area including proper storage of equipment.
  • Responsible for calling for the Response Team in emergency circumstances and filling in an Incident Report after the fact.
  • Autoclave duties: With the assistance of volunteers run the autoclave.  Conduct biological testing each day and sterilization of the equipment.  This includes:
    • Sterilizing tools.
    • Wrapping tools and running autoclave.
    • Making test kits and biological testing.
    • Cleaning and filling tubs.
